Terms of Service
Last updated: June 7, 2026
Acceptable use
Use CopyPaster only for content you are authorized to share. Do not use the service for unlawful material, harassment, malware, phishing, copyright infringement, attempts to disrupt the service, or automated activity that bypasses rate limits.
Room access
Rooms are assigned from public IP information and are not access-controlled accounts. Anyone routed through the same public address may be able to view or change room content. You are responsible for deciding whether the material is appropriate for that access model.
Availability
The service is provided as available. Features, storage limits, supported file types, retention periods, and rate limits may change. Content may be removed when it expires, violates these terms, or threatens service reliability.
No sensitive data
Do not use CopyPaster for passwords, authentication tokens, private keys, financial records, health information, or other confidential data. The service does not claim end-to-end encryption or guaranteed recovery.
Your content
You keep ownership of anything you paste or upload. We claim no rights over it beyond what is technically required to operate the service: storing it briefly, transmitting it to other browsers in the same room, and deleting it when it expires. Because you keep ownership, you also keep responsibility — by sharing content you confirm you have the right to share it, and that doing so breaks no law and no agreement you are bound by.
Private notes
Private notes work differently from rooms. The encryption key lives in the fragment of the link you share and never reaches our servers, so we cannot read a note, cannot recover one, and cannot help if the link is lost or if someone else obtains it. Anyone holding the link can read the note once. Treat the link itself as the secret and send it over a channel you trust.
Disclaimer and liability
CopyPaster is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that transfers will succeed, that content will remain available for any period, or that a room will be seen only by the people you intended. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the service, including lost, exposed, corrupted, or prematurely deleted content.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the service changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision, and continuing to use CopyPaster after a change means you accept the revised terms. Material changes to how content is retained or handled will also be reflected in the privacy policy.
