Open CopyPaster in both browsers, then scan the QR code or open the pairing link from your other device. Both browsers need to stay online and open. The paired connection carries text, files, and chat between your screens.
Which files can I send?
All file types are accepted. Up to 500 MB per file in a public room or private pair, and up to 500 MB with a temporary transfer link. Choose a file, drag it in, or paste a file your browser exposes from the clipboard. Download the received file on your other device. Supported text and PNG image contents can also be copied to the clipboard.
Will clipboard sharing work in the background?
Automatic paired text sharing is opt-in and depends on browser permissions. Keep the page open, visible, and focused. Browsers may require a click to read or write the clipboard; manual paste and copy controls are always available as a fallback. Universal background clipboard monitoring is not supported.
Who can receive my transfers?
Transfers go to the browser paired using your invitation, so only share that invitation with a device you trust. Text, files, and chat use the paired browser connection. Private Notes remain a separate end-to-end encrypted, self-destructing way to send a secret link.
How long does shared content stay available?
Files are held in your browser instead of a server file store. Closing or refreshing the tab clears them. Download received files you want to keep, and leave both browsers open until a transfer finishes.
Do I need an account or an app?
No. CopyPaster works in your browser on phones, tablets, and computers without registration. Clipboard access requires HTTPS and a supported browser; normal file selection and downloads are available when clipboard access is unavailable.
